A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Brzask from Poland had self released this self-titled demo out into the world back in the year 2020. So, yeah, it has taken quite a bit to get around to this one and I honestly have to say, that I should have been more on the ball three years ago. For Brzask’s take on the Black/Death Metal scene is rather intoxicating. This demo may happen to only be a little under sixteen and a half minutes but it’s staying power in your head and soul is much much longer.

Brzask’s music is like the true perfect intersection of the Black and Death Metal genres. Taking the best of both worlds and applying a real, true sense of melody and real craftsmanship to the proceedings. This is nuanced and intricate while still being ritualistic and aggressive, it’s honestly everything we want, need and deserve out of this type of music. And if this is only their demo then I, for one, am excited as hell what the future holds for Brzask because this demo alone is absolutely fantastic.
