Info

As the rottening coffin of black metal is carried to its grave, AO is the lamentations, the piss upon the gravestone and the defiling of the corpse. Yet, the resurrected hand striving upwards through the maggot-infested soil to claim, reclaim and proclaim its glorious rebirth. Detached from the diluted, human main road that black metal today is treading, AO tramples a new, yet familiar and orthodox path in the darkest and most overgrown, forgotten of terrains. No human cultivation but cultivation in the absolute sense of the Word.

This is a nice press release!

AO aka Alpha Omega from Sweden, with Roberth Svensson (ex-Necrocide) on guitars and N.N (Fienden), vocals, are a new band/project who release their ‘kAOS’ debut via the Dutch label Nomad Snakepit Productions.

Musically this is hate-ridden, vitriolic Swedish Black Metal. It isn’t weary of melody nor song structure – but it channels pure bile through its music.

Caustic tremolo picking, battering percussion, yet with the necessary slower parts to build up tension or anxiety. You can feel the hatred coming from this album. Musically, the first impression is Shining, old Hypothermia, Woods Of Infinity and Funeral Mist. Icy, yet monumental riffs and coarse shouted growls pave the way to a misanthropic dreary dimension, where sunlight is a thing of the past and everything bathes in murky twilight. The added spoken words only increase the feeling of devastation and angst.

Tracks like ‘Ordet’,  ‘Dwelling Womb’ or ‘Bitter Words’ describe unbridled rage, hatred, disgust and aversion for life, humanity and this fucked up world. What a bunch of vinegar pissers are these Swedes! The music is meticulously crafted with dialogues, sounds effects like chimes, chanting and other disturbing sounds. This bile black atmosphere is even more accentuated by the sublime music. If you just ran out of booze, Xanax or Valium, then ‘kAOS’ is your next best fix. I felt like pissing myself after listening to this sick depraved Black Metal.

So far, there’s no mention of a vinyl nor CD release, but given the right attention, this album could make some serious waves. Check out this band and their music on the Nomad Snakepit Bandcamp site.
