Imagine a tank division coming straight at you, ‘Global Assault’ pairs well with that imagery.
Tiger Battalion is all about monstrous, military style riffs that just push forward. Very similar to the sound of Bolt Thrower, not just because of the themes, but in how the guitars march, grind and attack with such heavy forward motion.
It’s pretty amazing since Tiger Battalion is a one man operation with Stefan Lang doing the entire recording, however you would never be able to tell as the album is thick, the drums punch, and it has the tightly connected feeling of a full band operation at full speed.
While there is certainly speed on ‘Global Assault’ the most effective parts are where the huge riffs transition to a pounding mechanical groove that earns the album name directly.
It’s an awesome album. Simply heavy, straight to the point, and totally dedicated to war oriented Death Metal in its truest form. If you’re a fan of Bolt Thrower style riffs and need some more music, give this album a listen.
