Today’s brutal and technical Death Metal is too clinical, too slick, and too interchangeable for me, and it doesn’t move me at all. I was much more fond of the bands that represented those styles around the mid-90s.

Morefected has also turned its back on everything that sounds modern and has chosen the approach that worked well 30 years ago. Brutal, yet old school. You’ll hear riffs like early Suffocation, Deeds of Flesh on their first three records, and Chris Barnes-era Cannibal Corpse with a subtle touch of early Deicide. Fast-paced sections alternate with grooving, head-banging mid-tempo passages, and the debut demo from Morefected does not shy away from dual vocals, which reminds of Deicide as well. And to be fair, the solo during ‘Veins of Decay’, is perfectly timed and executed.

However you look at it, it might not be Chateaubriand, but it is certainly delicious.
