A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Aum is a death metal band from France and it was discovered by and released on Iron Bonehead. Also, Aum has probably one of the greatest logos ever as well as an amazing debut album cover (courtesy of Misanthropic-Art). The album, written over the last five years, has seven powerful songs, all of which with titles related to Buddhism and monks and lords of Yoga in Hinduism. Padmasambhava, which means “Lotus Born”, known by various names, including Guru Rinpoche (Precious Master), was the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. His mantra “Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum” (the title of Aum’s album) is one of the most popular and powerful in Tibetan Buddhism. And it is said that this mantra contains the essence of all Buddhas (past, present and future). “Om” corresponds to the nature of the body, “Ah” the nature of the word and “Hum” to the nature of the mind of all Buddhas. The five words “Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum” refer to the five aspects or ‘families’ of Buddha, Diamond (Vajra), Jewelry (Ratna), Lotus (Padma), Dual-Vajra (Karma) and Wheel (Buddha). They represent the five wisdoms: wisdom as the mirror, the wisdom of equanimity, wisdom that discerns, the wisdom that accomplishes all and the wisdom of the absolute space. So, spirituality all over the place and great death metal is what you’ll get with this record. Go buy it! (Antonio)
