Fortunately, there is but a single Pharaoh here; Mercyful Fate contended with the curse of several.
Italy’s Humator has been quiet for a long time, given that their last release was back in 2009. But they are back with their Death Metal and their second album titled ‘Curse of the Pharaoh’. You might not expect it, but you do hear some Egyptian sounds in the songs, though it’s nowhere near a second ‘Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka’. Humator goes for the later US Death Metal style, with modern Cannibal Corpse leading the way alongside the later, slower parts of Morbid Angel, all with a modern production.
Special? No, but if you often go back to later Cannibal Corpse albums, then ‘Curse of the Pharaoh’, could be a nice record for you.
