After an EP and three splits, including work with Culto Negro, Throneum, and Necrosadist, Godz ov War Productions brings us the debut from Poland’s Witchfuck. The blend of Black Metal, Death Metal, and Thrash Metal, with a few Punk touches, is skilfully delivered.

Drawing from a 2000s Satyricon style and later Darkthrone on one side, and inspirations like Vital Remains or Angelcorpse on the other, mixed with some Nifelheim, the result is an Extreme Metal album called ‘Black Blood Baptism’. To close the record, Witchfuck covered Behemoth’s ‘Pure Evil and Hate’, from the mighty 1995 EP ‘And the Forests Dream Eternally’.

However, after a few spins, the same question remains: “I can’t be negative about it, but will I quickly grab it from the shelf again?”. It’s a feeling that’s becoming more common with the high volume of releases today.
