Info

The fourth full-length album, ‘Schisms’, has been a little while in coming, considering that the previous album, ‘Aokigahara Jukai’, was released back in 2013. In the interim, an EP, ‘Entropy’, did see the light of day in 2015, but there was a noticeable silence surrounding Tom Void and his band, Thrall.

Featuring a host of guest appearances – the likes of Matt Arrebollo (Gatecreeper) and Brock George (Cult of the Night, Ma Mortuum) among them – Void has crafted a Black Metal album characterised with a dark and oppressive atmosphere, owing in part to the dissonant approach and Doom interludes.

Boasting a modern sonic palette, it’s evident that this album isn’t necessarily aimed at devotees of traditional Black Metal, so a preliminary listen is advisable.
