Supremative – Goat Blood Communion

supremative – goat blood communion

Info

Although I already picked up the reissue of Supremative’s first demo on 7”, which was released by Blood Harvest Records back in 2016, I still had to check the band’s line-up. I remembered their sound and their Spanish origin, but still… I needed to ensure myself that there were no members of Proclamation in Supremative.

Why? Because they sound like a legitimate continuation of that Spanish cult band, that’s why. While the Blackened Death Metal genre in this very chaotic and cacophonous style has quite a few followers, and most of them are doing their own thing in the limited borders of the sub-sub-genre, Supremative possibly sounds the most like Proclamation of all. A heavy grinding guitar sound, furious drums and total rabid vocals are the trademark for this sort of sound, all complimented by an unpolished and utterly raw sound. Straight to your face, without any space for whatever subtlety or melodicism. This audial terror in its purest form – but, mind you, this still has lots to offer. While a lot of bands, of which currently the majority seems to have found their home in the stables of Iron Bonehead Productions, Supremative stays true to the mighty riffs. Yes, they do sound murky and they do sound so horrific that it will drive any audiophile to suicide, but they undoubtedly keep their riffing true to the Old School Death Metal fashion, yet with a distinct Black Metal ring to it. So, Supremative is not delivering merely noise, although it is highly unlikely that you will find anyone in any chosen shopping mall anywhere in the world who will share this thesis and not immediately refer you to the madhouse.
