Info

After the 2020 released debut ‘Blood Of The Deceivers’, the Norwegian duo of Proselytism returns with their sophomore album, again through Duplicate Records. Those who have heard their first album know that they are in for a piece of uncompromising Black/Thrash Metal.

‘The Desecration Of Ancient Bones’ feels pretty much what the album’s title suggests, an utterly regressive sort of Black/Thrash Metal. Very much in line with bands such as Aura Noir (first two records), Audiopain and, albeit to a lesser extent, Nocturnal Breed. Predominantly up-tempo, laced with evil 80’s riffs that breathe plenty of Sodom and extremely aggressive vocals. But, it is not solely Scandinavian/European, the slight Death Metal sound to the guitar tone and the ever-forward rolling riffs also have some US-styled Death/Thrash is reminiscent to bands such as Devastation (Texas, USA), Dark Angel or Sadus. It may not be too uplifting, but the album is a fine listen and the relatively short playing time of a scant half-hour certainly adds to the effective Black/Thrash assault. Short but sweet.
