A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

In 2022 the Danish beast released a 2nd Demo – “Hvor Natten ej med Dagen Sjifter” – and confirmed that this entity is aligned with a very singular consistent creative reality.

The first Demo took me by surprise and blew me away, mostly due to the fusion of melodies and “emotional places”; Jernved’s music is, at times, very melancholic and somber. Their posture is of a Panzer, to whom mid-pace melodies were associated, and it now resembles a hybrid of strength/power and melancholy/gracefulness.

I have stated this before, but the band masters Black Metal at a level where they have complete power over the changes in rhythm and pace, and melodic transitions. We are offered more of the same, but with consistency very few can achieve, and that is one the best depictions one can put forth when mentioning the band. Black Metal that channels plenty of emotions states, that leads the listener through a variety of atmospheres and “places”.

Epic Old School Black Metal at its best, completely.
