Info

Deathless Void are one of the Netherlands’ more ferocious recent exports in the Black/Death Metal underground, that got signed by Iron Bonehead Productions who marketed their ‘Demo MMXXI’ in 2020. A full length followed late 2024 and it is the one we’re reviewing here.

Musically, it is an overwhelming blend of Mgła’s towering, hypnotic riff structures, Watain’s venomous , sinister vocal delivery, and the chaotic immersion of Amor Fati-associated acts like Hwwauoch. I even detect Mayhem influences. Massive cascades of dense and thick guitars, the2 guitars divided to the left/right channel, seismic precision drumming and a truly HEAVY production condenses every track into a fireball.

The entire album exhales a pure, unrelenting black/death metal with surgical precision — from a single simple demo to signing with Iron Bonehead and releasing a full-length within two years — signals a band with both underground credibility and the potential to become a fixture in the European extreme metal circuit. Their combination of live ferocity and studio craft has already earned them a cult following amongst the fans of this genre.

Deathless Void are often described as firmly rooted in black metal but with a “futuristic, albeit ruined” vision, you won’t hear me argumenting. I can’t think of a weaker song or filler on ‘The Voluptuous Fire of Sin’ for they’re all of top notch quality. Overall tone: atmospheric, minimalist, and consistent — for better or worse depending on listener taste.

Awesome album altogether – fans of this genre should check out this rather unique debut album by Deathless Void.
