Cadaver Coils is the one-man band of Naos from Athens,Greece and ‘Offerings of Rapture and Decay’ is his debut album. He delivers six long tracks of Doom/Death/Black metal with heavy and dark sound enriched by beautiful guitar solos like on the second track ‘Fruits of Avarice’ which is my favourite of the whole record.

Neos’ vocals are very specific, they are not grunts and not screams either but something in between. This guy knows how to play melodic yet crushing guitar riffs and bands such as Incantation and Immolation seem to be his main influence. As it was mentioned above, Neos’ guitar leads are the greatest positive point of ‘Offerings of Rapture and Decay’. Just hear the beginning of ‘Arid Sand Tomb’ which starts with a melodic lead explosion reminding of Edge of Sanity before emerging into a brutal sonic assault.

The final track ‘A Sovereign, A Monarch’ offers a stomping thrashing tempo so there is plenty of variety in this quite extreme album. The sound production is raw but still you can clearly hear the instruments that Neos is playing and what exactly his musical ideas are.

‘Offerings of Rapture and Decay’ is one remarkable piece of darkened Doom/Death metal that you shouldn’t miss if you consider yourself fan of the genre.
