A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

From Oporto Portugal, Nefastu is presenting their first EP after releasing two demos in 2010 (“Versículo I – Entre a Ira e a Desolação”)  and 2011 (“Versículo II – As Profecias do Caos”). As the band has the aim to be obscure it is not known what they have done between those years, if they were on hiatus or something like that, nor are they fans of doing interviews.

So let’s keep this one soley about the “Obscura Transcendência” EP, which is a 7” containing 3 tracks of pure underground Black Metal. An enjoyable listen if you’re into the first 2 albums of Gorgoroth and Darkthrone’s “Under a Funeral Moon”. It is not fancy, dissonant, trendy nor lo-fi, but just riff driven and hatred in the vocals 1990s Black Metal. The vocals even have some similarities with Hat during those 2 albums, if you don’t consider the chant like style on the track “Gorgoroth” of the “Antichrist album”. An enjoyable EP for sure.
