For the ones who are taking the razors out of the drawer just because the band moniker delusions you that we’re talking about a Depressive Black Metal act, you will be in for some unpleasant surprise…no pun intended.

But if you’re into the 90s Finnish Black Metal scene, then Sad’s 7th full-length “Misty Breath of Ancient Forests” will be something of your liking, if you don’t know them already, not only because of their full-lengths but of their many splits as well. So why are Ungod and Nadir from Greece referred as Finnish? Just listen to the melodies and tremolo riffs and you will hear the hymns of a thousand lakes, played in the vein of Horna, Behexen and Sargeist.

“Misty Breath of Ancient Forests” is one solid “back to the 90s – fuck off to modernity” riff driven Black Metal album, that’s for sure. (Ricardo)
