Info

I had obtained their ‘Mansions of Death’ EP through tape trading and was immediately impressed by this band. Which is why I was also very curious about their debut album. They play a aweseome style of Death, Thrash and Black Metal. They play tight, varied, and with a lot of technical ability. In other words, the music is quite complex.

Sometimes it resembles Crystal Age, which was also a complex and technical band. The drummer is none other than Derek Roddy, whom we know from Malevolent Creation’s ‘In Cold Blood’ album. However, on this CD he shows that he can do more than just rapid drumming. Ron Vento, the vocalist/guitarist has a Thrashy Black scream, so not a ridiculously high-pitched voice. The only downside is the production, which should have been much heavier; then this album would have hit like a sledgehammer à la Dying Fetus.

However, the music itself is extremely convincing enough to guarantee listening pleasure. Together with Cryptopsy, one of the best technical brutal bands in North-America.
