Info

To experience ‘Edënohhdlha hálgra tu majtranlh’ha’ by US Raw Black Metal/Dungeon Synth one man project Celestial Sword, is the aural equivalent of sheet lightning forking through your brain like a sixteen minute long migraine. Rather than peddle in cohesive and contemporary rhythms and melodies, Celestial Sword moves and arranges harsh sounds like tectonic plates grinding together to create a sonic uneasy listening experience. Whilst working from a Raw Black Metal foundation complete with lo-fi production, from there the lines are blurred as agonizingly feral beats and shrieks combine with abrasive static drenched guitar leads. So distorted are the keyboard based melodic Dungeon Synth undertones, they almost sound like pan pipes.

Celestial Sword have collaborated with another entity for this release, a Texan Atmospheric/Ambient Black Metal one man project with a penchant for obscenely long release titles. For this offering he has kept things short with ‘Ga nëcëcta mon idlh’ and weighs in with a far more traditionally Black Metal sounding style. Bleakly lo-fi, his ravenously growling vocals sound out into the night as spectral synth tones drop from on high to be met with raw, aggressive guitar leads and an absolute cluster fuck of scatter gun drumming. Both bands combine to create an abject lesson is out right hostility through the mediums of savage Black Metal and mind bending noise. (Marksson)
