The prolific entity, Q.W., behind Emanations and Praesagium is also under this moniker. Taumaturgia, despite obvious comparisons with mentioned bands, delivers a rather different approach especially in tempo and riffing. The tracks presented here are mid paced Black Metal, with soulful almost hypnotic riffing. Lyrically they dwell in the underworld of witchcraft and necromancy and function almost like horror stories that suit perfectly with the slow decaying musick.
This Taumaturgia professional cassette, released by Qalmana, comes to fit the circle of bands that Q.W. is involved with, making of it a perfect complement but not as exciting and damned as the other projects. There´s a missing evil essence in the short passages between lyrics and music, however it might be just what the creator wanted, to tell a story above musick riffage. (N.)
