Info

Following their debut ‘Flesh Monstrosity’ came this 2-track EP, an EP on which vocalist Lee Lewis is no longer featured, having departed the band. Bassist Ross Dunn has since taken over vocal duties. The difference? Lewis’s vocals were filthier, whereas Dunn’s vocals are deeper.

Musically, it remains swampy Old School Death Metal, albeit the Autopsy groove and recognisable up-tempo approach are considerably less prevalent. During the track ‘Mass of Gore’, you suddenly hear riffs reminiscent of those on Avulsed’s ‘Yearning for the Grotesque’ during ‘Daddy Stew’, without drawing a direct comparison between Rancid Cadaver and Avulsed.

Unquestionably a solid EP, though a continuation in the vein of ‘Flesh Monstrosity’ certainly wouldn’t have gone amiss.
