Depressive Black Metal is some acquired taste, the melancholic melodies can be beautiful, the vocals can be suffering yet well-fitting and it can be skin crawling disturbing or makes your ears bleed of pure sonic torture.

Nocturnal Nightmare have chosen the melancholic way, the doom-laden way…also leaning more towards Atmospheric Black Metal as well. Is mellow-tormenting a thing? Long tracks with weeping melodies and checks all the boxes of Depressive yet Atmospheric Black Metal.

Not a bad album at all, I definitely have to say that, but it doesn’t stick fully after a couple of spins.
