With strong ties to Astrofaes, Nokturnal Mortum and Hate Forest, Khors are every bit as impressive as the name-dropping suggests. Coming on like a slightly more melodic version of their stellar compatriots Drudkh, the Kharkiv crew dropped a monumental slab of lush Slavonic Black Metal on their 2006 sophomore full-length.
‘Cold’ is a masterful collection of epic nationalist lamentations, crammed full of patriotic pathos and seductive majesty. Even the inclusion of some soaring leads fails to break the magical atmosphere that enchants the listener throughout an utterly compelling release.
