Blasphemaniac – Night of the Necromancer [EP]

blasphemaniac – night of the necromancer [ep]

Info

Here we go again, sinking our hooves into the rotten South American Underground. This time the inquisitorial process falls to the demons of Blaspehamaniac and their EP suggestively titled ‘Night of the Necromancer’, which was vomited in 2023 and to date has two CD editions and one limited tape edition.

The opening track, ‘Night of the Necromancer’, is destined to carry the cursed name of the work. It slowly drags us into the depths of the sonic ritual in projection. The slow litany consumes itself like the candles on the black altar until it tears the hymen of darkness: speed and intensity fired directly into the foreheads of the lambs! Speed Black Thrash unleashed, destroying everything in its path. The timbre and screams of the Profane Rapist remind me a lot of the Angel that struck Vulcan in the 80s. The guitars stand out, well-sharpened, and in some intervals between riffs they reveal the influence of traditional Heavy Metal. Needless to say, it’s a beastly way to start the work.

The track ‘Cross Our Path and Bleed’ is a crude warning that materializes, following the massacre without contemplation but with the appearance of the first guitar solos before falling into a cut for a change of time where they gave rest to the speed until the arrival of the last intervals, and again they step on the accelerator until the death of the track. If I remember correctly, the damn track ‘Blasphemachine Gun’ was the one that the horde presented at the time as a single from this work. It is only two and a half minutes of speed with a sustained blast beat while the blasphemies are being spit out.

Well positioned in the center of the EP, it passes like lightning, as they would say in Argentina: “Palo y a la bolsa” (stick and the bag), leaving the wound open to rot with the next attack that marches with thousands of rusty nails and spikes displaying the old banner of the Bathory war 1984-1985. The chorus is a stake nailed in the skull, crowning even beyond death the appellation ‘Hell’s Eternal Fire’! To close the damn EP, they kick the tombstone that they desecrated a few minutes ago with a cover of the legendary Nifelheim ‘Storm of the Reaper’, which ends up drilling the senses with the everlasting chorus!

This EP leaves the feeling that it was trapped in the clutches of time as if it belonged to the eighties. If that was what the band was looking for, they have achieved it with flying colors since it has all the ingredients in sound, retro aura, and compositional formula so that the time capsule takes the listener to that golden decade and glory of the most bestial Metal that has hit this world!
