Nachtterror – Judgement

nachtterror – judgement

From Saskatchewan in Canada Nachtterror send us some melodic blackened Death/Doom metal in form of their first full length album “Judgement”. And what an album it is! This is one of those rarities that combines music and visual art as it is presenting a separate piece of painted artwork for each track. The fact that Lord Maelkleth, one of the band members, is the visual artist behind the paintings makes it more rare and special.

Called “experimental metal” by some and self labelled as blackened Doom Metal, I think this album is very hard to put in one specific genre label in terms of variety. But what I can say is that Judgement is an ecstatic eargasm! The combination of doomy sometimes dreamy parts with aggressive fast ones is incredible and every song has some surprises. The mixture of growls and screams with the clean vocal parts are perfectly balanced and there is not a single boring second in this masterpiece.

But enough said, I just recommend you to click on Bandcamp, Youtube etc. and listen to this perfect piece of art. Everything about this album rocks. Listening to “Judgement” reminds me why I fell in love with metal music decades ago. Finally I have only one thing to say: Thank you, Nachtterror!(HaCeBo)
