‘Demonic Possession’ is the second demo released in 2022 by Sweden’s young, independent, one man (plus drum machine), Death Metal band Flesh Crusher. And, yes, as with a lot of Death Metal from Sweden, there is plenty of that classic HM2 buzzsaw sound mixed with that base of D-beat love. All the things we all love and look for when it comes to Old School Death Metal from Sweden. Well, that and good songwriting, that really kind of makes or breaks everything in the end. So, does Flesh Crusher deliver on the songwriting side of the package, a place many have failed before?

Sadly, the answer to that question is not as simple as just a yes or a no. It is really kind of a mix of both when it all comes down to it. While being from the same exact year, there is an obvious uptick in quality of songwriting from the first one to this. But there is just some more fine tuning needed to truly make Flesh Crusher a stellar band. As it stands now, Flesh Crusher’s ‘Demonic Possession’ is a rather solid to good effort. It is just seeming to miss that mark that would take it to the next level. So, it’s good, could be better, but still good.
