I’m a huge fan of both Dissection’s “The Somberlain” and “Storm of the Light’s Bane” as I consider them both as masterpieces grande deluxe. So it is quite obvious I dig Thulcandra as well, it’s no rocket science…And there is Bane from Serbia, another fine bunch of gentlemen who have the ambition to create the same unholy blend of Black and Death metal as Nödveidt and co.. Like Thulcandra, Bane is not succeeding in matching Dissection’s finest hours, but that doesn’t mean squat if you ask me. “The Acausal Fire” has the same interesting ideas concerning riffs which made Dissection famous and added a bit of Dark Funeral’s “Diabolis Interium” faster riffs (for example “Hail Murder”) in their sound. Interesting release, but it could be the last one as mastermind Pani? moved to Canada and hopes to resurrect Bane with new members there. (Ricardo)
