Tsjuder is a Norwegian brutal Black Metal band which has already darkened the world with several releases. This is already their 7th one and there must be some following, as all their previous releases have been sold out!
Tsjuder plays some intense form of Black Metal of which people say it will eventually be extinct, yet every time again somehow bands show up to keep the banner blazing; this Tsjuder is certainly one of them. Their music has the raw feeling of mighty Darkthrone and the intensity of Immortal’s ‘Battles in the North’, yet this Tsjuder adds some mean blast beats to this promising Black Metal recipe, and does not sound outdated for a moment. And it must be said, the production is far better than those two bands mentioned in the era concerned. From very heavy until ferociously fast; Tsjuder masters it all!
I dare to say that this ‘Demonic Possession’ is one of the better releases within this dark side of metal; not just for those who are already familiar with underground Black Metal, yet also for those who have just started, both because of the good production, the quality of the songs and with a total lack of female voices, keyboards and other ‘commercial’ aspects… Due to the fact that the band does vary its songs the album does not bore me for a single moment, not even after a few days playing. It’s heavy, it is dark, aggressive, it has got everything a good Black Metal album needs: Norway proves its supremacy again! Without putting the other 7 songs down, my absolute favourite is ‘Primeval Fear’; lasting more than 8 minutes without boring one single moment; that is quite an achievement in metal in general and especially within this sort of Black Metal, yet Tsjuder does it.
As all previous Tsjuder releases have been sold out, and judging on this album I can understand why, and knowing that this one will be released in an issue of only 1000 copies, I advise you to be fast… Cause this one should not be missing in a true Black Metal fan’s collection. What a great piece of true Norwegian Black Metal! Buy or die!
