Info

This Italian Hate Profile is a band consisting out of two members who made some of their fame in Hortus Animae, which has Grom in the line-up, who has been active in bands like Ancient and Doomsword in the past. This band, however, is less progressive than Hortus Animae. They use a lot of slight industrial (or call it modern, what you like) elements to prevent Hate Profile sounding like it could have been done about fifteen years ago. Because the basic idea of the band is very cold and raw black metal that could’ve been released next to any randomly raken Norwegian black metal album from the early nineties. But at the same time it reminds a lot of the later, more modern and slightly metallic Satyricon, let’s say “Rebel Extravaganza” and a bit of that “Grand Declaration Of War” kind of hypnotic riffing. Musically this is not the least interesting band, but it fails to keep my attention all the way. It lacks any really mind-stunning passages and song. The singing, which is probably the weakest spot here, isn’t the most revealing either. This together with the nearly always at the same pace pounding drums are actually the reason that I have difficulties not to fall asleep during this album. This is just an album (and band?) that will have a hard time standing out of the murky waters of mediocrity.
