Necrophobic’s and In Aphelion’s Sebastian Ramstedt was messing around in his free time when suddenly the temperature dropped in the room and a stench of decomposing corpses penetrated the room under the door, and then blood-soaked letters and numbers appeared on the wall…HM-2. Like a true fanatic, the Nihilist and Dismember-alike riffs flew through the room as if it took little effort, gathered like-minded people, and could only conclude: ‘Long live Swedish Death Metal, long live Eldfödd’.

Despite being very clear about their intention, ‘this is absolutely no fuxxing supergroup’, but with well-known veterans like Perra Karlsson (Darkened, Nominon etc.), Victor Brandt (Witchery, ex-Entombed A.D., ex-Firespawn etc.), Johan Jansson (Internment, Moondark etc.), Erik Sahlström (Under the Church, General Surgery etc.) and the aforementioned Ramstedt, a line-up that knows their stuff. Individuals who were there, as participants and as fans during the golden era of Swedish Death Metal.

And you get what you expect; from crushing riffs, heavy grunts, rolling drums, a lead during ‘Silence of the Gods’ that breathes Ramstedt, with that delicious HM-2 sound and a production that fits. Perhaps we shouldn’t call it a supergroup, but it creates expectations, but the 2 tracks on this demo abundantly meet my expectations.

“Expect nothing but putrid, relentless OSDM by those who were in the scene when it started eons ago!”. So be it!
