Now then, this is a record that I have been eagerly waiting to drop, the band namely being Disrupted from Ludvika, Sweden; the country responsible for simply best Death Metal in my humble opinion. ‘Stinking Death’ is the album title and rounds off the death trilogy, the first album being ‘Morbid Death’ (2015) and the second album ‘Pure Death’ (2020).

Now I have to state that maybe I’m a bit biased here, but I’ve been a fan of this band’s work since I discovered them back in 2020 and I’ve had this on pre-order for several months. And boy has the wait been worth it!

The opening track, ‘Choke on the Cross’ sets the mood with a pummelling d-beat chainsaw overdriven stomper, and I defy anyone to not be headbanging and stomping your feet to oblivion.

The band have added some more doomy slow passages this time round, especially the intro to ‘A Grave Ablaze’ and ‘Funeral Vomit’, before that buzzsaw let’s rip and slices through your feeble body. My personal favourite track on the record, or one of them, is ‘Deflesh the Dead’; it is just a proper throwback to the glorious days of yesteryear, where the catchiness of the song structure ticks every god damn box!

When all is said and done, the 40 minutes of music the boys have delivered here, well, they have produced something pretty special. Disrupted along with the likes of Lik are the new kings on the block, flying the flag for old school Swedish Death fucking Metal. Of this you can make no mistakes: the future is in good bloody hands. Now when are we going to get that long overdue gig in London?

‘Stinking Death’ is simply a must have record in your collection, or if you’re even remotely into Swedish HM2 driven Metal, and if you’re not, get that sorted out sharpish!
