As a soul traverses the map of this realm, it wanders upon certain works which transfigures its very being, where once which was calcified now overflows like the raging river. For what occurs is an ineffable experience, a dialogue between mind and art, where its speech can only be deciphered within that magickal moment. It is within these moments that the consciousness awakes from its chrysalis, and into a new realm of words and sound it steps into…

Aesthete’s ‘A Ritual for Demons Lost in the Forest’ becomes the conduit forged in the beauty of a blackened jewel…a jewel whose hymns shimmer in empyreal glory. For when mind and sound intertwine as one, a bridge is erected for one’s thoughts to seek solitude. Emitting in a similar resonance of bands such as WitcheR and Eldamar, Aesthete draws upon the emotions of Atmospheric Black Metal and in its own image, a new psalm is added to this evergrowing art of profound literature.

The mysticism which drapes this work of art appears in the fusion expelled from the energies of the vocals and synth, for what is crafted soars beyond the confinements of mere melody, instead Aesthete constructs an abode in which the soul can nestle within its wall, one where solace resonates in sound. ‘Embracing the magic of solitude’ exemplifies this, whereby the synths cast a rather aquatic sensation, as though each note drizzles lightly on the instrumentation, in a delicate manner coupled with the astral tone of the guitars in conjunction with the drums. The convergence of these elements and the shape of their language coalesce into speech whose lips utter serenity through the obsidian shade.

A cold and desolate aura lurks beneath the soil of this musical architecture, songs such as ‘Naturaleza & Oscuridad’ and ‘El bosque donde mueren los demonios errantes’ showcases this where the vocals, drums and strings all resonate at the same temperature but each branching off into a different body. It is because of these opposing energies that imbues the album with a palpable sensation, as the melodies become like an exposed nerve, flayed and quivering with every surge of emotion.

‘A Ritual for Demons Lost in the Forest’ becomes the shimmering moon amidst the stygian lake, the very jewel that entrances the eyes and in turn seduces the mind, for in its beauty, the crescendo of pain is felt, and through its searing emotion, serenity is unearthed and the soul becomes baptised in its splendor.
