Info

A left winged Black Metal band deeply into ecology is simply not done, though Wolves in the Throne Room come away with it easily. Their persistence and credibility reaches a solitary high level. ‘Two Hunters’ (Southern Lord, 2007) is a perfect follow up for their ‘Diadem of 12 Stars’ (Vendlus, 2006) release.

Four very lengthy songs produce the same lonely feeling as on Burzum albums, including ambient guitar parts, kind of long stretched drone soundscapes. The atmosphere set on “Two Hunters” beats similar bands in the genre, such as Drudkh. And the low-fi production even strengthens the dreamy feeling on Wolves in the Throne Room’s second album.

This is one of the best Black Metal releases coming from the States!
