This split CD is the first No Escape Records CD that kind of disappointed me. Meatyard is a grindcore band that is not even able to secure themselves a place amongst the sub-top of the grindcore scene. With their rather primitive kind of grind they try to copy the well-known and celebrated Razorback sound. But it is needless to say they fail miserably. Too bad. Maggots from The Netherlands, who are usually pretty nice in their low-end rumbling grindcore, are pummeling their worst songs in a rather murky sound. Though the bass-guitar is still very cool and pound its way through the songs. But I can’t deny a huge disappointment after all, to me its no big surprise the band called its quite May this year.
