Wilt – Faces of the Grave

wilt – faces of the grave

Info

With some metronomic precision, Wilt delivers a mid-paced at times, fast paced at others version of death metal that rips everything around it like a lawnmower, reminiscent of albums like Unleashed’s “Shadows in the Deep” or Grave’s “You’ll Never See”. They even got one of those Dan Seagrave-like panoramic paintings as their cover artwork.

The whole thing stinks like an anthem to those records, without offering that much novelty to the genre. Definitely needs to be more developed in the growl area, as it sounds a little underwhelming in some places. In the poetry department they deliver lovecraftian visions of the underworld, gory stuff, political complaint and it manages to get a little personal in some tunes. There is some mosh pit material in here, that’s for sure. Lurking in the dark!
