Thrashfire – Into the Armageddon

thrashfire – into the armageddon

Info

Fuck my giddy aunt, I’ve just been pummelled to within an inch of my life and all this is due to Thrashfire and their 10-track album “Into the Armageddon”. These thrash heads from Turkey have released an album for every thrash loving ultra-devotee out there and in no way am I overstating it.

The riffage provided here is extreme and powerful, there’s astonishing frenetic drumming that just blows your mind, the vocals have a blackened tone to them and are spat out with furious aggression and all this is matched with dynamic machine gun rhythms. Think a mixture of Destruction and Kreator and then add some more ingredients like mind blowing shredding and technical lead guitar work with astonishing over the top percussion and what you get is brutal, aggressive, nasty and just fuckin exceptionally good.

For me, there wasn’t one bit of filler on here as each track brings something to the table. I’m trying to find my favourite but all I can come up with to separate them is Exhibit A “Through the Crimson Darkness” which has a dirty, filthy riff to die for, along with a singalong, horn raising chorus and Exhibit B “High Heel in Hell” which is just a manic piece of work but this time with a chugging riff and some of the most intense drumming you will ever hear.

That said, all the tracks have the same intensive onslaught that is reminiscent of a sudden 40-minute thunderstorm. From the first crack of evil lightning “Pure Devastating Necromancy” through to the increasing build-up of “Supreme Command” and followed by the violent house shaking thunder of “Into the Armageddon” once you’ve heard them, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. I know I sound like a giddy fan boy, but I’ve still got a stupid grin on my face and the album stopped about 30 minutes ago and it’s about the 5th time I’ve listened to it in quick succession.

“Into the Armageddon” is released on the 10th October and I don’t give a shit how you get a copy, preferable buy one, but if you must, steal it, beg for it or borrow it, just fuckin get one. This is one of the best thrash albums I’ve heard, not only for this year but for ages. What a belter! (Longstretch)
