Shrieking Demons – Diabolical Regurgitations [EP]

shrieking demons – diabolical regurgitations [ep]

Info

Formed in 2021 in Italy, Death Metal band Shrieking Demons needed very little time to record their first EP, ‘Diabolical Regurgitations’, which was released by Caligari Records on both cassette tape and CD.

Clocking just over 15 minutes, they offer an energetic Old School Death Metal EP that has remarkable equations with the Dutch Death Metal scene of the early 90’s. A bit of old Sinister and Gorefest mixed up, giving it a fairly European vibe, especially in the vocals. But its no copycatism here, as Shrieking Demons does add some quirky melodic touches here and there and also has some wild screaming solos for good measure. In the more up-beat parts, they tend to go into those more punky Autopsy-kind of territories, making ‘Diabolical Regurgitations’ an all-round Old School jamboree.

Looking at the bands’ line-up, it is not much of a surprise, as they are current and former members of bands like Undead Creep, Burial Invocation, Gravesite, Assumption and Becerus (oh, and a band called Sergeant Hamster) they bring quite some experience with them. Not that Shrieking Demons pulled off something astoundingly great, it is more than a decent Old School Death Metal record which is enjoyable for anyone who like their Death Metal like it’s 1992 all over again.
