Sepulchromancy – Hell Crisis [Demo]

sepulchromancy – hell crisis [demo]

Info

This anonymous Death/Thrash Metal band (or project) has recently released its very first offering, a five-track demo, or EP, if you will, with a total playing time of just under 20 minutes. Although I wasn’t able to unearth any information about the band, the music itself leaves quite little to the imagination.

With the band name, the cover for this (digital only) demo and the great ‘digital’ writing of the demo title it is quite easy to do the math: this is as old school as they come. Sepulchromancy offers a wild pummelling Death/Thrash Metal attack, very reminiscent to the American bands of the (late) 80’s like Master and Devastation (Texas, USA). Maybe not even so much as a direct musical comparison, but the song on this demo certainly breathe the same sort of atmosphere. While listening to this almost proto-Death Metal like frenzy I caught myself wanting to sing “Pay.. To Die!” to the some sections of the second part of the first song. ‘Hell Crisis’ even has a production that is quite like Master’s debut album, with some of that so tasty reverb on the vocals. So, if you, like me, have a soft spot for Master-like simplicity in Death Metal, you should definitely give Sepulchromancy a shot, I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
