Diabolizer – Murderous Revelations

diabolizer – murderous revelations

Info

Like a searing inferno spewing forth from the darkened gates of the underworld; Istanbul’s Diabolizer have forged something of true flaming modern Death Metal merit with their sophomore album. For the unacquainted Diabolizer are a quartet featuring members whose other projects include high profile Death Metal outfits such as Hyperdontia and Engulfed. Debuting with the well received ‘Khalkedonian Death’ album in 2021, Diabolizer were off to a flying start with their seemingly developed brand of misanthropic wizardry.

‘Murderous Revelations’ is an album that is sure to be instantaneously likeable to an overwhelming majority of traditional Death Metal fans, the major reason being that everything that makes it excellent is clear as day. You have brilliant production that allows the busy songs to engulf you in an aural wall of fire, the general sound of the album feels akin to other hellfire engulfing Death Metal classics alla Immolation’s Close To A World Below or Krisiun’s Apocalyptic Revelation. The vocals being handled by none other than Mr. Abomination Demonseed himself have a very distinct sound that sit somewhere between the feral bear growls of Ross Dolan and the urgent terrifying roars of a prime Lord Worm (Cryptopsy). ‘Seeds of the Dethroned’ is one track in particular where the band are full steam ahead on the Satan Express and Demonseed’s hideously wonderful vocals are just the cyanide laced cherry on top.

As for the instrumental performances there is a hefty smorgasbord of expertly crafted guitar riffage with enough interesting and unrelenting ideas to fatten up even the most starved of Death Metal loving humanoid pigs and then still have enough to keep them force fed until their livers explode thus sending piggy humanoid foie gras shooting out in every direction. With our electric stringed instrument appetites suitably satiated let’s now move onto the drum performance. Behind the kit in Diabolizer we have Aberrant whose performances are dynamic, intriguing and virtually flawless. He can switch from a tectonic plate shattering usage of double kick bass drums to grove-laiden verses with bombastic, thrilling fills and rolls. Aberrant is the foundation for this epic hellscape and the album gains considerable depth and replay value from his contributions alone.

Essentially; ‘Murderous Revelations’ is everything that the awesome album cover is trying to imply. This is a Death Metal album (and a seriously good one at that!) that wants to force you to witness the relinquishment of the full power of Hell before it devours you into an ocean of eternal flame and hideous demons. The album is an extremely blunt and straight to the point experience and, thus, I can’t really think of a need to reference specific artists to compare Diabolizer to because frankly, if you enjoy Death Metal, you will enjoy this.
