‘Claws of Moriis’ is a band I’ve been following for a while, and this EP confirms the potential they carry. The release features a compelling Darkthrone cover with the track “Over Fjell Og Gjennom Torner” (‘Transilvanian Hunger’), which fits well within the overall atmosphere of the work.
With fast-paced drumming, distant and slightly dissonant vocals, and hypnotic riffs that echo with a striking sense of melancholy, the EP builds a dark, spectral ambiance. The intentionally raw production enhances this aesthetic, offering a cavernous and immersive sonic experience.
