Here we are again with the sacrificial dagger in hand to do, if I remember correctly, my first review of an Indonesian band, and this time the dismemberment process will be consummated to the cursed entity with the name of Avgrav.
There is no information available about who makes up the band, so all that can be scrutinized about who is behind the conspiracy will be perceived by the black art they have vomited in their demo ‘Exegis,’ which has a duration of no more than 12 minutes but plunges us mercilessly into an abyss of darkness plagued by terrifying entities. The demo is divided into 3 ‘Exegis’ or assaults of pure and rotten Raw Black Metal where there are no substantial differences in rhythmic patterns in a minefield of minimalism and the crowned intensity of Black Metal with a drum set a bit oriented towards the chaotic War (the three tombs or Exegis follow almost the same formula of decomposition), but this does not mean that there are no minimal differences in sound and final volume from one attack to another.
Full intensity, darkness, guitars distorted like hell, screams that sound like wails of pain far behind the recording as if they were in another damn dimension but are perceptible on this plane through the possessions. The sound marches proudly and everything can be appreciated, but it continues to dilute in the Lo-Fi agenda with a preponderance of the mid frequencies. At the end of ‘Exegis II’ they slow down the frenetic speed to fall into a slow trance; the wall of effects of the tremolo guitars with the grinding of the hi-hat and cymbals recreated a sensation of claustrophobic agony until the death of the track.
The demo was recorded in December 2024 and released on limited tape by the Ukrainian label Depressive Illusions Records, well known for betting on this type of underground entities that curse the sun under the darkness of some bunker or cave forgotten in time.
