Parasitario – Everything Belongs To Death

parasitario – everything belongs to death

Info

The Japanese Death Metal band Parasitario sounds anything but Japanese. Well, if there is a distinct Japanese sound to begin with, it certainly is not how Parasitario sounds. This three-piece, who already released quite an impressive slew of demos and EP’s before this first full-length album, sounds like your next Martin van Drunen-fronted Death Metal project.

Well, at first glance, that is. Vocalist (and guitarist) Yuto Kotani sounds just like Van Drunen’s lost brother from another mother. Or well, considering the obvious age difference… Anyway, his vocal style is so very much alike that I had to check twice whether it was really Kotani and not Van Drunen in disguise. But musically their brand of Death Metal can still be labelled as Old School, but it is much better than anything Van Drunen was in for the past three decades or so. Where bands like Hail Of Bullets and Grand Supreme Blood Court knock your beer dead after a few songs, Parasitario do keep their music exciting with a wide variety of tempo changes, interesting riffs and nice leads. Although the music does seem to slump slightly towards the end of the album, these youthful Japanese still manage to lay down an extremely convincing debut album.

Besides an Asian (CD) edition released by Japan’s Obliteration Records, Germany’s F.D.A. Records will release the album on both CD and vinyl. Needless to say, this is fodder for fans of Pestilence, Asphyx, later Death and Morgoth.
