Negură Bunget – Zîrnindu-să [Re-Release]

negură bunget – zîrnindu-să [re-release]

Info

Negura Bunget is one of those well kept secrets from Eastern-European scene, after several underground releases (which are very hard to get back in those days and even nowadays it is still quite impossible to get your hands on these things) they broke the ice and came with their great new opus “‘N Crugu Bradului” early this year. That album made their ‘break through’ possible, not that the album is just a little more commercial than the others, just by the fact they signed a deal with the Italian label Code666 label. They helped the band with a world wide – and decent – promotion and distribution, something this band certainly deserves. Later this year – now the gates to this band opened up some more – Darkland Records from Germany re-released their highly acclaimed debut album from 1996 “Zirnindu-Sa”, which originally was released on Breath Of Night Records (and on tape version on Bestial Records, for the real collectors and maniacs). This time on precious vinyl, something I really like. This mighty opus wasn’t pressed on this great format before, but it truly deserves it.

A nice product to add to your collection if you ask me. A great black sleeve with just a little Negura Bunget logo in the middle with the album title just below it, simple and just awesome looking. The back cover shows some drawn landscape, this nicely done artwork finishes this fine piece of blackmetal art. Of course limited as well, so I guess by the time you read this you could already hurry yourself a little, for their were only 500 copies pressed (world wide, all are hand-numbered as it tradition in the scene. The music itself lies good in the line of the last album, yet, for the recordings are nearly eight years old a little rawer. This doesn’t mean the album is less interesting, on the contrary! The minor things that pop up quite immediately in my mind are the keyboards that are not yet that greatly woven into the music as on their last effort, is it annoying? No, not at all. It represents exactly how blackmetal sounded those days.

This is one of the little re-releases that I would call useful, for many of the younger fans couldn’t listen to the old releases. Or, like me, couldn’t get their greedy hands on the original releases. This nicely looking vinyl version is a great new gem for your collection. If you like the band, don’t let this one pass by.
