The fine gents of Swedish Mordbrand seems to be on this earth for EPs and splits only. If you dont know them, Mordbrand has Per Broder of God Macabre / Macabre End on vocals and are playing Swedish Death Metal all day long. Not like most colleagues of the same music style, Mordbrand has more Doom and Darkness in their tunes. Hence the splits with bands like Evoke and Bombs of Hades. Maybe not that strange concerning the God Macabre link. “Let Them Consume” has that kind of Doom passage which Im referring to. It all starts like what you can expect from an Old School Swedish Death Metal band, but after a couple of minutes it all get gloomy and slow. But it totally fits in and enhance the dark atmosphere. On “Let Them Slumber” the guest vocals of Crafts Nox are givin the dark atmosphere a little push as well. Horror. Dark. Mordbrand! (Ricardo)
