Between “Svn Eater” (2014) and this release, some changes are made within the ranks of Lvcifyre, one of the Black/Death highlights from London (UK). Although still present on the “Sacrament” EP, drummer Menthor (known for his work with Corpus Christii, Nightbringer and Enthroned among others) left the horde to focus on his other bands.
That having said, it is fair to say you’re reading this review for the music…well, it is demonic, dark and heavy like a combination of Immolation, Deathspell Omega and Nile. Just a tad less of dissonance and murkiness yet the chaos is present still. At the end Lvcifyre treats the listener with a Kat cover, which is has a far more thrashy attitude that the songs of their own. It will be a hit or miss for the most of you, but their own songs will be enjoyable if you are into some dark and complex Black/Death. (Ricardo)
