Indesinence – Noctambulism

indesinence – noctambulism

Info

As their “Ecstatic Lethargy” demo from 2003 and 2006’s EP “Neptunian” already promised, Indesinence would come up with an astonishing debut album. Yet they surprised me with getting a deal with Goat Of Mendes Records instead of your typical doom label, but that should not spoil the fun…

As I already mentioned in my review for “Neptunian”, this greatly titled “Noctambulism” had quite some expections to fill. Their great slow-mo business approach on bands like Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Worship, Ataraxie, Autopsy and Celtic Frost. But also a band like Forgotten Tomb, Shining and the American Leviathan and Xasthur seem to have an influence on the music of Indesinence or, at least, it has some distinct resemblances. The result is a very refreshing doom/death outfit that has got something to offer without sounding alienated from the current state of the doom scene at all – on the contrary, they are really adding something to it here. Blending classic doom death, very slow parts that nearly touch the funeral doom boundaries and some haunting Forgotten Tomb-like black metal parts finished off with some very deep sounding vocals (that reminds of older Esoteric at moments) is just something that can do it for me. Though I have failed to get to see them on stage I really look forward to that first moment as this should be band of sheer brilliance on a live basis.
