Idolatry – Visions from the Throne Eyes

Info

After reviewing the split with Unrest in the previous issue, I have the debut full length called “Visions from the Throne Eyes” of Canadian Idolatry in my hands. It’s clear they are walking the same darkened and unholy path as they did on the split. With a clear yet harsh and filthy production, Idolatry summoned the spirits of the 1990s Nordic Black Metal wave and give it a bit of Depressive Black Metal flick on. The Depressive touch is subtle, more when the pace goes down a bit and at some points the vocals (the howling and exasperating cries), yet it is not disturbing if you are not into the Depressive part of Black Metal as the Nordic Black Metal riffs reigns supreme on this album. I mentioned the pace before, this album has both up-tempo and mid-tempo, but it’s the icy riffs that makes it interesting for the second wave Black Metal fanatic. (Ricardo)
