Grave Miasma – Endless Pilgrimage [EP]

grave miasma – endless pilgrimage [ep]

Info

Three years after their highly acclaimed “Odori Sepulcrorum” debut album, England’s Occult Death Metal band Grave Miasma are back with a monstrous 5-track EP (the third EP of their discography) on Sepulchral Voice Records and Profound Lore Records. Featuring a re-recording version of the 2002 track “Glorification of the Impure” from the band’s Goat Mölestor demo days, the EP (with a duration of a little more than 33 minutes) was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano in Orgone Studios solely via analog methods. This last recording shows Grave Miasma still in great shape and, just like its predecessors, with each complex song carefully representing a little piece of the atmospheric and breath-taking puzzle that is the whole EP. Just five songs over 33 minutes proves this band does not belong to the quick fast-paced death metal world, where two or three minute songs with half a dozen riffs is enough to do a good job. To those bands, 33 minutes would mean a complete album with ten or more tracks. With Grave Miasma, however, we call it an EP, a mini-allbum if you like, with two songs passing the seven minute mark. However, it never, ever gets you bored. The band has been around since 2002, under the name Goat Mölestor. They released a couple of split recordings, an EP and one demo before changing (in 2006) their name to Grave Miasma. Their first official release after the name change was the “Archaic Infamy” song contribution to the “Litanies of Sacrilege” compilation LP (2008) by Calabozo, followed by two incredible EPs, 2009’s “Exalted Emanation” and, a year later, “Realm of Evoked Doom”. 2013 witnessed the release of their first full length, already mentioned above. For fans of Mitochondrion, Dead Congregation and Necros Christos.
