Diabolical Messiah – Satanic Alpha-Omega

diabolical messiah – satanic alpha-omega

Info

Not counting a handful of split EPs, compilations and a demo, the Chileans of Diabolical Messiah present their third feat with ‘Satanic Alpha-Omega’. On the previous two long-players, the band had already shown they knew their stuff, ferocious Death Metal was poured out on the barely prepared listener. I too was very captivated by their debut album on which the band showed itself to the world with brutal force.

Non-complicated Death Metal is what Diabolical Messiah stands for, leaning heavily on heavy artillery, the band also shoots off like a rocket on this latest album. The drum sound takes some getting used to, especially since it occupies such a dominant place in the music. After a few minutes, however, the somewhat shrill sound of the drums (particularly the snare drum) is no longer a problem and becomes the symbol of this ultimate wild fury. Comparisons to Krisiun were never very far off already, but on this latest album it seems to even be laid on a bit thicker. The staccato and blasting drums do offer very little room to breathe and the frantic screaming whammy soloing/leads are pulling the rope even a little tighter making you grasp for air. Definitely not a record that will appeal the ones who like their Death Metal smooth, mid-tempo and catchy.

Nope… The tempo is unnerving, the thundering riffs are outrageous and the ferocious vocals preach death and destruction. It is all there. Pure evil, apocalyptic Death Metal very much in the vein of Krisiun, Angelcorpse and Imprecation. Those who like their Death Metal this way, go and pick it up.
