Chemicide – Common Sense

chemicide – common sense

Info

How many record labels does it take to release an album? Do you give up? Five apparently, four of which I had to set up on this site from scratch so thank you for all the extra administrative work Chemicide. I do hope your new album will be worth it. In truth, I’ve come across this Costa Rican Thrash act before, so i know how good they are, and I’m rather looking forward to sampling their fourth and latest opus, ‘Common Sense’. Said album has been put out on both cassette and CD through myriad labels, which also suggests a lot of interest and anticipation for this offering.

This is my kind of Thrash. Chemicide have a volatile high energy sound with massive riffs, and brutal and uncompromising drumming style and a bass playing display that would give an aspirin a headache. Plus the vocals are delivered with full force and with maximum aggression. yet this isn’t a one speed blast fest through and through, and Chemicide get down and dirty with some slower, meatier riffs that are laced with satisfying solos and mesmerizing guitar melodies. Even just the opening track ‘Self-Destruct’ will have you hooked as it epitomises everything that is great, brutal and fierce about these Costa Rican thrashers!

Chemicide play Thrash Metal in the same way they design their cover art. Brash, acidic and direct, packed to the gills with confidence. They truly rage throughout this album with a never ending stream of high octane and high quality aggression that showcases each band members skills to the max, whilst also demonstrating their great song craft and sense of showmanship. I cannot recommend Chemicide enough; they are as thrilling and destructive as when I first heard them many years ago!
