Bombs of Hades – The Serpent’s Redemption

Info

The crusty SweDeath Metal of Bombs of Hades has always have been a love or hate thing for my ears. I really enjoyed their “Carnivores” EP but got a bit disappointed with their “Chambers of Abominations” release. The debut full-length is a bit to “n’ roll”, or punkish if you will, for me. It couldn’t grab my full attention as it was too predictable. But I got excited again after hearing the “Into the Eternal Pit of Fire” EP with the title song as good example. With “The Serpent’s Redemption” they embrace the punkish old School SweDeath n’Roll label with both arms again. Plain and straightforward. Absolutely not bad in any way, but it’s not really appealing as well, sometimes a bit tedious in my humble opinion. If you are into Entombed’s “Wolverine Blues” and Grave’s “Hating Life” with an obvious wink towards Motörhead, you will be enjoying this album more than I do. (Ricardo)
