Blaspherian – Allegiance To The Will Of Damnation [EP]

blaspherian – allegiance to the will of damnation [ep]

Info

Though not really a well-known band (yet) they get their stuff released by labels as Hell’s Headbangers and Blood Harvest Records. That is what I call an achievement, as these two are probably the best labels in underground extreme metal at this very moment. This first 12” of the band is quite a good introduction in the sounds of evil…

With their evil sounding and pummeling death metal, Blaspherian from the USA doesn’t only sound typically American, there are obvious hints of Incantion, Immolation and old Morbid Angel in there. But sound-wise the band also has something in common with the very old Morgoth kind of sound. With tempo’s varying from rather slow and groovy to swinging mid-paced gallops, but the usual blast beats weren’t forgotten either. This way Blaspherian knows how to get their metal interesting, without being original (at all!). It might sound a bit too simple at times, but the music is really well-crafted and production-wise there is nothing to complain about.

Another flawless release for Blood Harvest and a great introduction in the world of Blaspherian for many. For those who are into old school and evil-sounding death metal, this is what you have to get. Little chance on disappointment.
